Job Title: Crane Operator with Class A CDL


Job Description:

As a crane operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate cranes and hoisting equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials, machinery, and equipment at construction sites, industrial facilities, and other work environments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, following strict safety protocols and guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inspecting and performing pre-operation checks on the crane and related equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition before each use.

2. Operating different types of cranes, such as tower cranes, mobile cranes, and overhead cranes, according to the specific job requirements.

3. Reading and interpreting lifting plans, load charts, and job orders to understand the load capacity and lifting procedures for each lift.

4. Safely and skillfully maneuvering the crane to lift and transport materials to designated locations while maintaining precise control and coordination.

5. Communicating effectively with signalers or other team members on the ground to ensure smooth and safe crane movements.

6. Adhering to safety guidelines and industry regulations to prevent accidents, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment on the site.

7. Identifying and addressing any mechanical issues or malfunctions of the crane and reporting them to the appropriate personnel.

8. Maintaining accurate records of crane operations, including the loads lifted, distances traveled, and work hours.

9. Collaborating with riggers and other crew members to ensure proper rigging and securing of loads before lifting.

10. Participating in regular training and certification programs to stay updated on the latest crane operation techniques and safety procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training or certification in crane operation.

2. Valid crane operator’s license or certification from a recognized authority or governing body.

3. Proven experience as a crane operator, demonstrating the ability to operate different types of cranes safely and efficiently.

4. Knowledge of load charts and lifting capacities for various crane models.

5. Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to crane operation.

6. Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and depth perception.

7. Physical fitness and strength to operate crane controls and perform manual tasks as required.

8. Effective communication skills to receive and convey instructions clearly to ensure smooth operations.

9. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and sometimes in confined spaces.

10. Class A CDL Required
